Heading away from the Bay of Naples to the Bay of Salerno now....... along the winding, narrow road of the Amalfi Coast from Sorrento to our next lodging in Minori was so scenic and beautiful. Passing through Positano again to Amalfi brought the first stop where we walked through town and stopped for lunch. I had the most wonderful and tasty steamed seafood with mussels that were so fresh and perfect, tomatoes like you have never tasted with simple EVOO and basil, paired with an obligatory Limoncello Spritz. I also found the most beautiful hand painted bowl that I fell in love with and simply had to purchase, as well. That was inevitable.
The next set of pictures are from Ravello, which is another spot I would like to return and stay several more days. This town was absolutely magical positioned at the highest point of the Amalfi Coast and had a real sense of old-world uniqueness compared to the other coastal cities we visited. We visited the stunning 13th century Moorish-style Villa Rufolo which offers far-reaching views from its terraced gardens, and hosts indoor and outdoor concerts during the popular summertime Ravello Festival. From this vantage point, was the town of Minori, the destination of our final lodging on the coast. We then visited Villa Cimbrone, a medieval-style estate perched on a steep outcrop, surrounded by their famous and most stunning, cliffside gardens. Gorgeous!
